My name is Vergielyn Cubol, a writer and editor with 10+ years of professional experience in advertising, marketing and tech.

I grew up in a remote sugarcane farm town in the Philippines, in a tiny shack next to a river that runs along a green valley. There, I would spend my days reading and writing, befriending the “people” inside my head.

I thank my Father who spoiled me with reading materials and art supplies. Most of all, I thank him for nurturing the most fundamental thing in my life: artistry.

The past years of working with brands and companies across business landscapes have taught me that the most effective sales formula is to look at customers as an equal.

You gotta give them credit. They are as knowledgeable as. You cannot fool them with grandiose hyperboles. And you shouldn’t. “The customer is not a moron. She’s your wife” As Ogilvy sums it. This has become the core ethic of every word I put in my work.

My writing has helped businesses shape, nurture, and humanize their brands.

My work is powered by caffeine as well as the strong desire to overcome self-loathing, writer’s block, and procrastination. Since 2011, I have:

• worked with over 200 clients and brands across industries including tech, cosmetics, arts, foods, travel and SMEs
• written 76 landing pages, 42 sales pages and 3651 product descriptions and labels.
• walked many miles, climbed 27 peaks in the Philippines, roamed 87 of its cities and travelled to 8 countries to curb writer’s block
